Reggae Lou & The Kind Budz are a high-energy island reggae outfit based in Key West, Florida, where they’ve become fixtures at iconic venues like The Green Parrot and Sunset Pier with an intense year-round performance schedule. In 2024, they were named “Reggae Act of the Year” by the Key West Music Awards, underscoring their local impact and relentless live presence.

Fronted by Sacramento-born vocalist/guitarist Louis Bryant—better known as “Reggae Lou”—the project began as a solo looping act that crisscrossed the U.S. from 2013–2016 before evolving into a full band. That period included coast-to-coast touring and meaningful stops from Standing Rock, ND to San Diego, Rosarito (Mexico), Miami, and the Northeast.

Today the band channels roots reggae, rock, dancehall, and calypso into uplifting, crowd-moving sets that often run multiple times a day for audiences of locals and travelers alike. Their homebase momentum continues to fuel national dates, with recent listings on Bandsintown and regional calendars highlighting shows across Florida and beyond.

On record, Reggae Lou & The Kind Budz lean into sun-splashed hooks and island storytelling—standouts include the 2023 single “Key West It Is the Best,” alongside live favorites captured on YouTube. Whether on a pier at sunset or a festival stage, the mission remains the same: share the music widely and lift the room—every time.
